The Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum

The Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum is located in the Lintong District of Xi'an city. The museum is listed in the world's cultural heritage by by UNESCO in 1987. The musuem is mainly divided into three pits with more than 7000 pottery soldiers, horses, chariots, and even weapons have been unearthed from these pits. The terracotta warriors and horses, created about 2,200 years ago, were found in 1974 on the east side of the tomb of the First Emperor Qin Shihuang (259 BC - 210 BC) near Xi'an.

"The Eighth Miracle of the World" On September 1978, French President Jacques Chirac, after visiting the Terracotta Army, he praised it by saying, "There were Seven Wonders in the world, and the discovery of the Terracotta Army, we may say, is the eighth miracle of the world". No one who has not seen the pyramids can claim to have visited Egypt, and now I'd say that no one who has not seen these terracotta figures can claim to have visited China."
